Winnipeg Spa Pulls Controversial Survey After Immigration Question

In early January 2026, a client of Winnipeg’s Thermea Spa Village, Amelia LaTouche, received an email from the spa’s parent company, Groupe Nordik, inviting her to complete a guest‑experience survey. The questionnaire, developed with third‑party firm CROP, began with service‑related questions but then included divisive statements such as “Overall, there is too much immigration. It threatens the purity of the country.” LaTouche described the question as “blatantly disrespectful” and “highly inappropriate.” After she raised the issue, Groupe Nordik apologized, stopped the survey, and pledged a stricter review process. The incident follows earlier backlash over similar CROP surveys, including a 2018 Aeroplan survey that prompted complaints about questions on immigration and gender.
