Ukraine to Hold New U.S.–Russia Peace Talks in Abu Dhabi Feb. 4-5

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a new round of trilateral U.S.–Ukraine–Russia peace talks will take place on Feb. 4–5 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The dates follow a landmark set of sessions held in the UAE last month, the first U.S.–Russia–Ukraine meeting since Russia’s full‑scale invasion began in February 2022. U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff reported that Washington and Moscow had “productive” discussions in Florida just before the Abu Dhabi meetings. Meanwhile, Russia launched 90 deadly drones overnight, 76 were intercepted by Ukraine, and 14 struck nine sites. Russia’s Defense Ministry claims its forces shot down 21 Ukrainian drones. The talks aim to secure a lasting cease‑fire and bring the conflict closer to an end.
