UK Economy Grows 0.3% in November, ONS Data Shows
UK economy grows 0.3% in November, buoyed by services but hampered by weak construction.

On 15 January 2026, the Office for National Statistics announced that the UK economy grew 0.3% in November, the first positive output in seven months. The figure is based on a 0.1% three‑month growth, up from a revised zero‑growth June‑August period. Industrial production improved after Jaguar Land Rover restored manufacturing post‑cyber attack, but manufacturing remained weak. Services were the sole sector to record growth, while construction posted its biggest three‑month decline in almost three years. Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ pre‑budget speech in early November signalled potential income‑tax hikes, stirring uncertainty and dampening business sentiment. The data gives the chancellor breathing room as the budget debate heats up.
