Trump Signals Possible Iran Strike as US Ships Arrive
Trump hints at US military action against Iran as large Navy ships head toward Tehran amid regional tensions and local blasts.

On 1 February 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at possible military intervention after Iran's army declared "fingers on the trigger." Trump, while on a flight to Florida, said very large, powerful ships were headed toward Iran, hoping for negotiations. General Amir Hatami of Iran’s army stated the country was in "high level of military readiness" and warned that any U.S. mistake would threaten regional security. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, 86, ruled out direct talks. Two explosions struck Iran that Saturday: one at Bandar Abbas killed a four‑year‑old girl and injured 14; another in Ahvaz, over 1,000 km away, killed five. The EU has also designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization.
