Train Fare Evader Faces Jail After 112 Convictions

Charles Brohiri, 29, from Hatfield, Hertfordshire, now faces a custodial sentence after pleading guilty to 76 fare‑evasion charges at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 15 January 2026. This follows his earlier 36 convictions in August 2025, bringing his total to 112 unpaid tickets. Brohiri admitted he failed to pay £3,266 in Govia Thameslink Railway fares from February 2024 to November 2025 and had unpaid fines amounting to £48,682 from prosecutions between August 2019 and April 2025. Court documents say he could also be ordered to repay court fees exceeding £15,000. Despite a ban on Thameslink trains, he allegedly evaded fares as recently as early January 2026.
