On 13 January 2026, a stolen pickup truck collided with a minivan south of Cold Lake, Alberta, killing Lilith Eskilson Daniels‑Dion White, 5, and injuring her mother Morrigan Daniels‑Dion (27), partner Chase John (30), and 10‑month‑old son Charlie. The incident left Morrigan with two broken ankles, a broken tibia, and multiple ribs; Chase suffered two broken femurs, broken ribs and an upper‑arm fracture. A 34‑year‑old Bonnyville resident has been charged with failure to stop, causing injury and death, and vehicle theft. The Frog Lake First Nation community held a vigil on Jan 19 drawing over 200 attendees, honoring Lilith’s life and urging communal support.
