Toronto jeweller Rolan Sokolovski (37) has been labelled by U.S. prosecutors as the ‘chief money launderer’ in a network run by fugitive former Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding. According to Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lyndsi Allsop and Kenneth Carbajal, Sokolovski bought a 2002 Mercedes‑Benz CLK‑GTR Roadster – one of only six ever made – for Wedding’s drug‑trafficking operation. The vehicle, valued at $13 million, was seized by the FBI in Miami in October 2025, prompting Sokolovski to book an Air Canada flight to Nassau, Bahamas, in an attempt to escape. He was arrested on Nov 18 2025 and subsequently faced an extradition hearing in Toronto on Jan 21 2026, amid claims he has hundreds of millions in cryptocurrency and physical assets linked to the 60‑tonne per‑year cocaine smuggling ring.
