Tony Blair Joins Trump‑Led Board to Shape Gaza’s Future
Ex‑UK PM Tony Blair named to a Trump‑appointed board that will steer Gaza’s post‑war reconstruction.

On 17 January 2026 the White House announced that former UK prime minister Sir Tony Blair will sit on the “ex‑executive board” of the Gaza Board of Peace, a group set up by President Donald Trump to oversee the transition of the Gaza Strip after the 2023 conflict. Blair, alongside US figures such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff, billionaire Marc Rowan, World Bank President Ajay Banga and Deputy National Security Adviser Robert Gabriel, will manage portfolios aimed at stabilising Gaza and delivering essential services. The board will work with Ali Sha‘ath’s National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and with Major General Jasper Jeffers’ International Stabilisation Force to rebuild institutions, restore utilities and secure long‑term peace. The initiative follows the 2023 Hamas attack that killed ~1,200 Israelis, the ensuing Israeli offensive that took ~70,000 Gaza‑side lives, and a fragile ceasefire that remains in place.
