Three Men Charged in Dawson Creek Murder
RCMP files first‑degree murder charges after 2023 death of Robert Girbav in Dawson Creek.

Three men – Tanner Allan Murray (31), Robert James Sinclair (34) and Benjamin James Elliot Touchette (36) – have been charged with first‑degree murder following the death of 37‑year‑old Robert Eric Douglas Girbav. Girbav was found dead in a red Dodge Calibre in Dawson Creek, B.C., on December 31, 2023, and RCMP officers say the accused men and the victim were acquaintances. The charges were filed by the Dawson Creek RCMP on Sunday, February 1, 2026. All three men were already in custody in British Columbia or Alberta for unrelated offenses when the charges were announced. The case adds to the region’s growing concern over violent crime amid a string of unresolved homicides in the Peace Region.
