‘The New Big 5’: Wildlife photography book turns the lens on animals at risk
Photographer Graeme Green launches book celebrating endangered animals people most want to photograph.

British photographer Graeme Green has published 'The New Big 5,' a wildlife photography book featuring 144 photographers and essays from Jane Goodall and Paula Kahumbu. The book highlights the elephant, polar bear, lion, gorilla and tiger—voted the top animals people want to photograph—as ambassadors for endangered wildlife. These species face extinction from habitat loss, poaching, and climate change; lion populations have dropped from 200,000 a century ago to an estimated 20,000 today. The book also includes a chapter titled 'What We Stand to Lose' with photos of other at-risk species from insects to whales. Published by Earth Aware Editions, it aims to raise awareness and inspire conservation action.
