John Michael Garza Jr., a 21-year-old from Midlothian, Texas, was arrested on December 22, 2025, and charged with attempting to provide material support to ISIS. Federal authorities allege Garza sent bomb-making materials—including acetone, hydrogen peroxide, and sulfuric acid—to an undercover FBI agent he believed was an ISIS operative, along with instructional videos and cryptocurrency payments totaling approximately $20. The investigation began in October when an NYPD undercover officer engaged with Garza's pro-ISIS Instagram account. A federal judge ordered Garza held pending trial, citing danger to the community. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
