Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Shorts mobile application and any associated services (together, the “App”), operated by Shorts (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
1. About the App
Shorts is a news aggregation and content discovery platform designed to present current affairs in short, digestible formats. The App sources content from publicly available RSS feeds and other syndicated distribution mechanisms operated by third-party publishers.
Shorts does not operate as a news publisher. Its primary function is to aggregate, summarise, and present third-party content for informational purposes.
2. Source and Ownership of Content
All articles, headlines, images, and related materials displayed within the App originate from third-party publishers and content providers.
Shorts does not own, create, or claim authorship over third-party news content.
All intellectual property rights remain with the respective copyright holders.
Trademarks, logos, and brand identifiers belong to their respective owners.
Where reasonably possible, Shorts attributes content to the original publisher and provides a link to the source website.
3. AI-Generated Summaries
To improve accessibility and readability, Shorts uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to generate concise summaries of third-party news articles.
These summaries are transformative in nature and are intended to provide brief informational overviews.
AI-generated summaries do not replace the original articles and are not presented as verbatim reproductions.
Users are encouraged to access the full original content via provided source links for complete context.
Shorts does not guarantee that summaries are free from omissions, inaccuracies, or interpretive limitations.
4. Copyright and Syndication Disclaimer
Shorts relies on the availability of content through RSS feeds and syndicated distribution channels provided by publishers.
The App operates on the basis that content made available via such channels is authorised for redistribution in summarised or linked form.
Shorts does not independently verify the licensing status of every syndicated feed.
If you are a rights holder and believe that content within the App infringes your copyright, you may notify us with sufficient detail to enable prompt investigation and, where appropriate, removal or restriction of access.
5. No Editorial Control or Endorsement
Shorts does not exercise editorial control over third-party content.
Opinions, viewpoints, and factual claims expressed in articles belong solely to their respective publishers.
Inclusion of content within the App does not constitute endorsement, approval, or verification by Shorts.
Content may be incomplete, time-sensitive, or subject to correction by the original publisher.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Shorts shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on third-party content or AI-generated summaries.
We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, legality, or availability of content displayed in the App.
Shorts accepts no responsibility for decisions made or actions taken based on information obtained through the App.
Use of the App is at your own risk.
7. External Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites.
Shorts has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content or practices of external sites.
Access to third-party websites is at the user’s own discretion and risk.
8. User Obligations
Users agree not to:
Copy, reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit third-party content without permission from the relevant rights holder.
Use the App in a manner that breaches applicable laws or regulations.
Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the App’s functionality or security.
9. Changes and Availability
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the App at any time.
These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
