Telecom Complaints Surge 17% in 2024‑25 Amid Billing Errors

In Canada’s 2024‑25 reporting year, the Commission for Complaints for Telecom‑television Services (CCTS) accepted a record 23,647 complaints between Aug. 1 2024 and July 31 2025, up 17% from the prior year. 86% of complaints were resolved. Billing issues dominated, accounting for 46% of all grievances and rising 16% year‑on‑year – mainly incorrect charges and missing credits. Contract breach complaints surged 121%, representing a quarter of total complaints. Service delivery issues (intermittent or lost service, installation delays) also heightened, though falling 2% YoY. Rogers led with 27% of complaints, Telus increased by 77.9% to 4,904, and Bell by 15.6% to 3,966, all amid rising price‑increase and credit‑refund disputes.
