Storm Chandra Forecasts Snow, Wind, Heavy Rain Across UK
Storm Chandra will bring heavy rain, snow and strong winds across the UK on Tuesday.

On 26 January 2026, the Met Office has named a large-scale weather system 'Storm Chandra', warning of heavy rain, strong winds and snowfall across most of the United Kingdom. From Monday evening through to Tuesday, the National Weather Service will issue amber rain alerts for South West England, with additional yellow warnings for London, the South East, South West, Wales and Northern Ireland. The storm will bring wind gusts that could reach 50‑60 mph in some northern regions, and snowfall is expected on higher ground, particularly in the Highlands and Pennines. Flooding and travel disruption are likely, especially in low‑lying coastal areas and major transport corridors. Residents are urged to prepare for potential power cuts and road closures.
