Daniel Martell, 34, the stepfather of six‑year‑old Lilly and four‑year‑old Jack Sullivan, was arrested Monday, January 29 2026, after their parents’ home in Lansdowne, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, emptied of the siblings on May 2 2025. Martell now faces three charges: sexual assault, assault and forcible confinement of an adult complainant. RCMP investigators reviewed over 1,066 tips, 8,000 video files and conducted 75 interviews, polygraph tests, and used cadaver dogs. A multi‑province RCMP task force has been deployed. Martell is due before Pictou provincial court on March 2, 2026, while the search for the missing children continues nationally.
