St. Albert: Father Charged with Murder, Baby Presumed Dead

RCMP arrested 33‑year‑old Christopher Beasley on Jan. 27, 2026, for the murder of 23‑year‑old Ayla Egotik‑Learn in her St. Albert apartment. The killing is believed to have occurred on Dec. 5, 2025. Beasley, a common‑law partner, faces one count of second‑degree murder and two counts of indignity to a body. Police also suspect Ayla’s 9‑month‑old daughter, Braylee Beasley, is dead and that her remains are located nearby. Beasley had an 18‑month probation period after pleading guilty to a 2025 assault charge. He will appear at the Alberta Court of Justice on Feb. 2, 2026. The case has drawn attention to domestic violence issues in the community.
