A snowmobiler died in an avalanche on December 30, 2025, near Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, approximately 35 kilometres southwest of the town in the Bullmoose area. According to Avalanche Canada, three snowmobilers were riding when the avalanche was remotely triggered from the base of the slope, measuring 300 metres wide by 240 metres long. The victim was fully buried and did not survive despite prompt companion rescue efforts. No other injuries were reported. Tumbler Ridge is located about 175 kilometres northeast of Prince George, B.C. Avalanche Canada reports that approximately 80% of fatal avalanche accidents occur in B.C.
