Six Killed in Mississippi Mass Shooting
A devastating mass shooting in Cedarbluff on Jan. 10 left six dead, including a 7‑year‑old child, as authorities investigate.

On Friday night, January 10, 2026, a mass shooting unfolded in the rural community of Cedarbluff, Clay County, Mississippi, just west of the county seat West Point and near the Alabama border. Six people were killed, including a 7‑year‑old child who was the suspect’s second cousin. The victims were shot at three separate locations, four of whom were family members of the suspect. Daricka M. Moore, 24, was charged with first‑degree murder and may face capital murder charges. Sheriff Eddie Scott said investigators believe the gun was held to a child’s head. Moore is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, January 12.
