Scotland Boxing Day race descends into cheating scandal
Organisers declare results invalid after 50 runners caught using prohibited GPS devices

Organisers of the traditional Nairn Turkey Trot in Scotland have declared this year's Boxing Day race results invalid after a cheating scandal involving more than 50 participants. The annual 10-kilometre run, held on December 26 in Nairn, Scotland, was marred when runners were found using prohibited GPS timing devices, violating competition rules. The Nairn Running Club, which organises the event, announced the decision following an investigation into the widespread use of banned technology. The 50-plus athletes who used the devices have been disqualified from the official results, with organisers stating the race must maintain fairness and integrity. The Nairn Turkey Trot, first held in 1986, typically attracts hundreds of participants each year and is a longstanding community tradition in the Scottish Highlands.
