Potential Blizzard Threatens Southeast – Forecast

A powerful winter storm is expected to hit the southeastern U.S. from Friday night through Sunday morning, delivering 3 to 8 inches of snow across the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia, and Tennessee. Coastal North Carolina could receive nearly a foot of snow, and storm‑related high tides, amplified by a full moon, may flood beaches with 2 to 4 feet of water from South Carolina to Maryland. Winds forecast to reach 40 mph could create blizzard conditions, reducing visibility to a quarter mile. North Carolina Governor Josh Stein has declared a state of emergency. The I‑95 corridor may see 3 to 6 inches if the system pivots west, while Florida expects record lows of 20–25°F.
