Kent Police are seeking two men in connection with a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on the A289 at Gads Hill in Gillingham on Monday, December 29, 2025. Officers were called to the scene at around 12:10 PM, where a male pedestrian was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene. CCTV footage shows two men wearing dark hooded clothing, one appearing to run while carrying a vehicle number plate. The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is requesting dashcam or CCTV footage of a grey Mercedes estate car. Road closures remain in place on Pier Road between The Strand and Gads Hill. The incident contributes to the 409 pedestrian fatalities recorded in Britain in 2024.
