Poilievre’s team reaches out to Ford and Houston after 2025 tensions.

On Jan 16, 2026 CBC News reported that Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative campaign is mending ties with Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston after a public fallout during the 2025 federal election. In December 2025, newly hired campaignsns Steve Outhouse, who began his role on Dec 1, called both premiers’ offices to emphasize the party’s desire to rebuild provincial‑federal relations. Outhouse, an Atlantic‑born strategist who has worked on campaigns in Newfoundland, Alberta and New Brunswick, plans to attend the PC AGM in February and is extending outreach nationwide. Poilievre has publicly defended Ford over tariff policy and backed Houston amid 2025 tensions, and the leader will face a Calgary leadership review later this month.
