On Jan. 31 2025, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre was re‑endorsed by delegates at the party’s national convention in Calgary, Alberta, with 87.4% approval. 2,558 ballots were cast, a 95 % turnout among roughly 2,700 delegates. The vote, conducted by hand‑count under supervision of a Big‑Four accounting firm, confirmed Poilievre’s dominant support and positioned him to continue steering the party’s agenda. Delegates praised his focus on affordability, opportunity and international trade, while Poilievre reaffirmed his commitment to working with Prime Minister Mark Carney to address the U.S. trade war. The result is seen as a strong mandate ahead of the party’s next federal elections.
