The Canadian Food Inspection Agency added Peace by Chocolate bars and assorted chocolates, plus NuttyHero nut and seed butters, to an ongoing pistachio recall on January 2, 2026. The recalled Peace by Chocolate products include Dubai Style Chocolate Pistachio bars, Kunafa Bars, The Peace Maker Specialty Bars, Trans Canada Trail — Peace Seeker, Classic Box, Proudly Canadian box, and assorted filled chocolates. Some are custom-labeled for companies like TD, Dexterra, First Onsite Property Restoration, and Tri-County Regional Centre for Education. NuttyHero nut and seed butters in maple cinnamon, coconut crunch, and chocolate bliss flavors are also affected. The recall is part of a larger outbreak linked to imported pistachios that has seen hundreds of products pulled from shelves across Canada since late 2025. Salmonella contamination can cause fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea, with young children, pregnant women, seniors, and immunocompromised individuals at higher risk.
