Palestine Action Hunger Strike Deteriorates
Activist Heba Muraisi has been on hunger strike for 69 days, losing over 10kg and showing serious health decline.

On 10 January 2026 Sky News reported that Heba Muraisi, 31, a Palestine Action activist on hunger strike for 69 days in a UK prison, has lost more than 10 kg and shows gaunt, light‑headed symptoms. A friend, Amareen Afzal, described her deteriorating condition and fear of death. The trio of remand prisoners – Muraisi, 28‑year‑old Kamran Ahmed and one unnamed – seek immediate bail, demanding the UK end support for companies supplying Israel. Ahmed was admitted to hospital on day 58 after a heart complication. Forty‑five MPs signed a letter urging government response, citing risk of refeeding syndrome. Dr David Nicholl warned that extended hunger strikes can cause permanent neurological damage.
