Pair of baby goats rescued in Kent after being dumped in a litter bin

Two newborn Anglo Nubian goats, named Biffa and Veolia, were found abandoned in a litter bin near a Kent farm on 10 January 2026. Rescue teams arrived within hours, extracting the shivering animals and transporting them to a local veterinary clinic. After intensive care involving feeding, warming and monitoring, both goats survived a serious risk of dehydration and infection. The incident has sparked local calls for stricter regulation of animal litter containment. Kent County Council has pledged a review of litter bin design following the rescue. The goats have been relocated to a nearby animal rescue centre for ongoing recovery.
