Olympic Snowboarder Turns Fugitive: Ryan Wedding Arrested After 10 Years on the Run
Former Olympian Ryan Wedding is arrested in Mexico and sent to U.S. for murder and drug trafficking charges after 10 years on the run.

Ryan Wedding, a 44‑year‑old former Team Canada snowboarder, was taken into custody in Mexico City on January 23, 2025, after more than a decade on the run. He was listed on the FBI’s most‑wanted list in March 2025 and is accused of running a murderous, transnational drug‑smuggling empire tied to the Sinaloa cartel. A $15‑million reward for information may be paid, but details remain unclear. Wedding’s arrest involved the FBI Hostage Rescue Team and was followed by a flight to Ontario, California, where he was transferred to U.S. custody. He will appear in federal court in Los Angeles on Monday and face multiple murder and drug trafficking charges that April and 2024 indictments have already raised.
