Over £257,000 raised via GoFundMe for Tom Shearman after his wife and two children died in a house fire on December 26, 2025

Over £257,000 has been raised for Gloucestershire police officer Tom Shearman, whose wife Fionnghuala (known as Nu) and two children, Eve, 7, and Ohner, 4, died in a house fire at their Brimscombe home on Boxing Day, December 26, 2025. The blaze started on the ground floor of their mid-terrace Cotswold stone cottage on Brimscombe Hill around 3am. Shearman attempted to rescue his family by breaking through a bathroom window but was unable to re-enter due to the intensity of the fire. Emergency services recovered the bodies of the children and family dog from the property, while Fionnghuala's body was recovered earlier. The fire caused extensive damage, destroying the roof, ceilings, and stairs. More than 12,400 donors contributed to the GoFundMe campaign, surpassing its original £110,000 target and raising the new goal to £350,000. Police confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
