Missing Alabama Boy, 4, Found Dead 2 Miles From Home

Police in Walker County, Alabama announced on January 2, 2026, that 4-year-old Johnathan Everett Boley was found dead approximately two miles from his father's home in Walker County. Boley had been missing since Wednesday, January 1, when he was last seen around 11:30 a.m. at the 7000 block of Highway 195 in Jasper. The search operation covered over 500 acres and involved 161 volunteers, 126 first responders, a helicopter, drones, and multiple police dogs. Boley was described as 4 feet tall, weighing 50 pounds, with blond hair, wearing a yellow Mickey Mouse shirt, black pants, and Paw Patrol shoes. His dog Buck was found alive alongside him. Boley's mother, who had arrived from Florida to pick him up, is cooperating with authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
