Gavin McKenna scored a hat trick and Canada rolled to a 9-1 victory over Denmark at the men's world junior hockey championship on December 29, 2025, in Minneapolis. Porter Martone added two goals and an assist, while Zayne Parekh, Michael Misa and Kashawn Aitcheson each scored and set up another. Braeden Cootes also scored for Canada, which improved to 7-0 all-time against Denmark with a combined score of 59-5. Carter George made 12 saves for Canada, while Denmark's Patrick Tiedjin stopped 41 shots. Frederick Amondsen scored for Denmark. The win puts Canada atop Group B ahead of their New Year's Eve matchup against Finland.
