Masked Settlers Beat Deaf Palestinian in West Bank Nursery

On Thursday 10 January 2026 a video captured by the Associated Press shows dozens of masked Israeli settlers carrying sticks attacking 67‑year‑old Basim Saleh Yassin, a deaf Palestinian man, inside a plant nursery in the West Bank village of Deir Sharaf. The attackers, dressed mostly in black, beat, kicked and left Yassin on the floor while setting fire to or destroying four cars at the nursery. Yassin sustained a broken hand, bruises on his face, chest and back and was hospitalized. Israeli forces later dispatched soldiers to the nearby Shavei Shomron junction, arrested three suspects and condemned the violence amid a rise in settler attacks that surged during the Palestinian olive‑harvest season.
