Man Arrested in Norwich After Woman Dies on Catherine Gardens
A 60‑year‑old man arrested after a woman in her 40s was killed on Catherine Gardens, Norwich.

Police were called to Catherine Gardens in Thorpe St Andrew, outside Norwich, just before 11.45pm on Saturday, 17 January 2026, after reports that a woman had been injured in the street. Emergency services arrived but the woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. In the early hours of Sunday, a man aged in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of murder at Dereham Road in Norwich. Detective Superintendent Stacey Murray said the investigation is still in the early stages and that the two parties were likely known to each other. Yarmouth Road was closed between Pound Lane and School Avenue. The man remains in custody.
