On 31 January 2026, police were called to Pound Lane in Willesden, a suburb of northwest London, around 4 p.m. A 50‑year‑old woman was found with multiple fatal stab wounds and died at the scene. A 30‑year‑old man, believed to have known the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held at a north‑London police station. The Metropolitan Police, led locally by Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis, said the force would maintain an elevated presence in the area for the next few days. Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford praised the public’s quick response and stated there is no evidence of a wider risk at present.
