On Saturday at 1:40 a.m. ET, police on Western University’s campus in London, Ontario apprehended a 27‑year‑old Ottawa resident after a trespassing incident. The officer seized a loaded handgun and discovered a second suspect. The investigation led officers to 212 Chesham Place in the University Heights neighbourhood, where they found hazardous chemicals capable of making explosives. Four individuals—Fei (Frank) Han (25, London), Feiyang (Astrid) Ji (21, London), Jerry Tong (27, Ottawa), and Zekun Wang (26, London)—have been charged. Han and Ji face unlawful possession of explosives; Tong faces six offences including concealed‑weapon use and resisting arrest; Wang faces break‑and‑enter and firearm‑in‑vehicle charges. A bomb‑disposal unit and excavator remain on standby as the London Police Service continues the investigation. Roads around the property were closed for safety.
