Liverpool Sack Set-Piece Coach Aaron Briggs After Poor Dead-Ball Record
Liverpool have dismissed set-piece coach Aaron Briggs following dismal performance metrics from corners and free-kicks.

Liverpool have parted ways with set-piece coach Aaron Briggs after a poor campaign from dead-ball situations. According to reports, the Reds conceded 12 goals while scoring only three from corners, free-kicks, and throw-ins in the Premier League this season. The decision comes amid player complaints about the team's set-piece vulnerability, with Liverpool manager Arne Slot reportedly overseeing the dismissal ahead of their New Year's Day Premier League clash against Leeds United. Briggs, who joined Liverpool's coaching staff in 2023, was responsible for one of the most underperforming aspects of the team's play. The move signals Slot's commitment to addressing defensive frailties that have contributed to Liverpool's inconsistent form. The club will now seek a replacement to improve their set-piece efficiency for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.
