Leading UK hospital in Cambridge under 'rapid but thorough' review
Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge faces rapid neuroscience review after earlier surgeon probe.

Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge is currently under a rapid, independent review of its neuroscience unit, prompted by concerns that surfaced in the wake of a separate investigation into the suspended paediatric orthopaedic surgeon Kuldeep Stohr. The Cambridge University Hospitals trust has tasked two official health bodies to examine the performance of several clinical teams, with the review expected to be completed by the end of February 2026 and its findings reported to the trust by summer 2026. Earlier scrutiny involved 800 patients operated on by the suspended surgeon. The review aims to identify governance gaps and strengthen patient safety, with results to be published and acted upon by the hospital.
