Latif "Latz" Ayodele, the fitness trainer for former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, tragically died in a car crash in Nigeria on December 29, 2025. The 35-year-old was killed when his vehicle collided with a stationary object in Lagos State, according to police reports. Just days before the accident, Ayodele had posted an emotional video reflecting on life's priorities and the importance of family. The crash occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around 3:00 AM local time. Ayodele, who helped Joshua prepare for multiple world title fights including bouts against Andy Ruiz Jr. and Kubrat Pulev, had been working with the boxer since 2019. Nigerian authorities confirmed the accident and stated investigations are ongoing. The boxing community, including Joshua, has expressed profound grief over the loss.
