Retired engineer Kevin Rees found guilty of detonating homemade bomb on Sidcup ULEZ camera.

Retired electrical‑appliance engineer Kevin Rees was convicted of detonating a homemade bomb on an ULEZ camera on Willersley Avenue, Sidcup, east London, at 6:45 p.m. on 6 Dec 2023. The low‑tech improvised device caused a blast that damaged cars and property up to 100 m from the camera, including a child's bedroom. A witness saw Rees walk away after lighting the fuse. He was arrested at his Sidcup home on 18 Dec 2023 and police found three homemade stun guns, leading to three counts of weapon possession. At Woolwich Crown Court, a jury found him guilty of one count of causing an explosion likely to endanger life. Rees faces sentencing later.
