On 21 January 2026, Israeli forces opened fire on Gaza, killing at least 11 Palestinians, according to Hatta Hospital officials. The casualties included two 13‑year‑old boys, a 10‑year‑old boy, a woman, and three journalists filming near a displaced‑persons camp in central Gaza. An IDF statement said troops identified a drone operated by Hamas suspects and targeted the drone operator in a precise strike. In a separate incident, a tank shell killed three people in central Gaza, while two shootings in Khan Younis killed a 13‑year‑old boy. The Hamas‑run Health Ministry reports over 470 Palestinian deaths since the ceasefire began in October, with more than 100 children among them.
