Israel suspends 37 aid organisations from operating in Gaza
Israel suspends 37 NGOs for failing to register, including MSF, amid ongoing humanitarian crisis.

On 30 December 2025, Israel announced the suspension of 37 humanitarian organisations operating in Gaza, including Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Action Against Hunger, ActionAid, and CARE, for failing to comply with new registration requirements. The Ministry of Diaspora Affairs stated these rules aim to prevent infiltration by Hamas and other militant groups, requiring organisations to register staff names and disqualifying those that have called for boycotts against Israel, denied the October 7 attack, or supported legal cases against Israeli leaders. MSF denied accusations of staff links to Hamas and warned the suspension will impact 20% of hospital beds and a third of births in Gaza. The groups criticised the timing, citing ongoing massive humanitarian needs despite the ceasefire that began in October 2025. The Gaza Health Ministry reported 71,266 Palestinians killed, though Israel disputes these figures.
