Iran Doctors Reveal Brutal Crackdown on Protesters | Sky News
Iranian doctors describe violence, arrests and medical facility raids amid 2026 protests.

On 29 January 2026 Sky News interviewed Iranian physicians about the regime’s violent response to the January 2024 protests. Dr Yaser Rahmani‑Rad, an internal‑medicine specialist at a Tehran hospital, reported emergency‑room patients were forced to leave so security forces could attend injured protesters. He details raids on clinics, including the Imam Khomeini Hospital in western Iran, where some patients were removed from ventilators and shot. Human‑rights groups confirm six doctors were detained, including Ameneh Soleimani, Babak Pouramin and Farhad Nadali. Dr Alireza Golchini was beaten and faces execution for “waging war against God.” Official state figures list 3,117 deaths, but Human Rights Activists News Agency counts 6,301 confirmed and a possible 23,000 total, with 8,354 in Tehran alone.
