IndiGo cancels 13 flights on Sunday due to fog; Air India issues travel advisory
IndiGo cancels 13 flights citing bad weather; Air India warns of fog disruptions at northern airports
IndiGo cancelled 13 flights scheduled for Sunday, December 27, 2025, due to forecasted bad weather including dense fog at multiple Indian airports, with two additional services affected by operational reasons. The cancellations impacted routes connecting Chandigarh, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Delhi, Gaya, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur and Pune. This follows Saturday's cancellation of 57 flights due to weather conditions. Meanwhile, Air India issued a travel advisory warning of dense fog and reduced visibility at northern airports like Chandigarh, Amritsar and Varanasi, which may disrupt flight schedules on Sunday morning. The aviation regulator DGCA has designated December 10 to February 10 as the official fog window, requiring airlines to follow special low-visibility operating norms under CAT-IIIB guidelines. IndiGo is currently operating at reduced capacity (1,930 daily flights) after the government cut its schedule by 10% following earlier operational disruptions due to stricter pilot rest norms.
