Ground Crew Trapped in Air Canada Plane Baggage Hold Before Takeoff

On December 13, 2025 an Air Canada Rouge flight 1502 from Toronto Pearson was taxiing toward the runway when a ground‑crew member was trapped inside the aircraft’s baggage hold. Passengers heard banging and screams, prompting the crew to halt the plane before takeoff. The worker was freed and later reported safe; no injuries were sustained. Flight 1502 was grounded, passengers were asked to disembark, and the flight was eventually cancelled. Air Canada issued a $400 voucher to some passengers, while the Canadian Air Travel Regulator allows up to $1,000 compensation for delays over three hours. The incident is under investigation, and the union remains silent. The aircraft was an Airbus 321A with a 184‑seat capacity.
