On 29 January 2026 the Metropolitan Police arrested a 19‑year‑old man from Harlow, Essex, for conspiracy to commit arson as part of a campaign that began in May 2025. The series of blazes included a Toyota RAV4 set on fire in Kentish Town on 8 May, a front‑door fire at a converted flats in Islington on 11 May, and a fire at the House where Starmer lived before becoming prime minister on 12 May. Three other men – Ukrainian 34‑year‑old Petro Pochynok, 21‑year‑old Roman Lavrynovych, and Ukrainian‑born Romanian 26‑year‑old Stanislav Carpiuc – were already charged. All are slated to stand trial at the Old Bailey on 27 April. A fourth man was released without charge.
