EasyJet banned from claiming £5.99 for a large cabin bag after ASA review and Which? study found prices are much higher.
On 28 January 2026 the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned easyJet from marketing a £5.99 fee for a large cabin bag, ruling the claim was misleading. The decision followed a Which? audit of 520 easyJet flights that found the cheapest large‑bag price was £23.49 and the average was £30. easyJet said the £5.99 figure was available on many routes but varied with demand and costs, and that the exact price would appear before purchase. The ASA requires the advertised “from” price to be available on a significant proportion of flights. The ruling highlights a broader trend of airlines advertising low headline fares while charging higher add‑on fees.
