Crowborough migrant camp: Resident says lives turned upside down
A Crowborough resident claims the arrival of up to 500 illegal migrants will upset the town.

In Crowborough, a town in East Sussex, residents were rattled when authorities announced that up to 500 illegal migrants would be housed in a nearby military camp. Georgia Pearce, a long‑time resident, told GB News that the influx would "turn their lives upside down" and that many locals feared increased crime and strain on services. The British Army’s Camp St. John’s, located just 2 km north of the village, is slated to accommodate the migrants beginning 15 February 2026 after a rapid mobilisation of temporary housing. Local councillors have called for greater community engagement and additional security measures.
