Court Delays Verdict on Ex‑RPS Officer Targeting 33 Women

Robert Eric Semenchuck, 53, a 22‑year veteran of the Regina Police Service (RPS), pleaded guilty on Nov. 21, 2025, to breach of trust and unauthorized use of a computer. Prosecutors say he accessed RPS internal databases to obtain personal data on 33 women from 2023 through 2025, then used his work phone, cruiser and badge to contact and pursue them while on duty. Nine victims testified, describing depression, anxiety and the need to leave Regina. Justice Marilynn Beaton has reserved her sentencing decision for Feb. 6, 2026, after hearing Crown and defence argument for a two‑year suspended sentence followed by three years of probation. The case has spurred the RPS to introduce new oversight policies.
