She rose to prominence with SCTV (1976‑84), starred as Kate McCallister in Home Alone (1990) and portrayed Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek (2015‑20). O'Hara was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2017, received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2021, and earned Emmy, Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for The Studio (Apple TV+, 2025). Tributes poured in from fellow actors, government officials and fans worldwide. Cause of death remains unknown; she was reportedly ill before her passing.
