CBC Books released the 15‑book longlist for Canada Reads 2026 on Jan. 8, 2026, marking the 25th edition of the annual book debate that began in 2002. The longlist includes titles such as _A Minor Chorus_ by Billy‑Ray Belcourt, _Celestina's House_ by Clarissa Trinidad Gonzalez, and _Crossroads_ by Kaleb Dahlgren. Five Canadian celebrities will pick one book each to champion, with their choices revealed on Jan. 22. The televised debate runs Apr. 13‑16 on CBC TV, CBC Radio, CBC Listen, CBC Gem, YouTube, and podcast. The event follows the tradition of selecting a single book to build bridges across Canada’s diverse readership.
