Britons Halt Channel Migrant Boats, Banned in France
UK men intercept migrant boats, labelled far‑right, face ban in France.

On 14 January 2026 GB News reported that a British group known as Raise the Colours intercepted a number of migrant boats attempting to cross the English Channel. The operation, conducted off the coast of Calais, was described by local authorities as “peaceful and within the law.” However, French officials have labelled the men as far‑right activists and imposed a ban preventing them from entering France. The ban comes amid increasing tensions over migration flows from North Africa and the Mediterranean. Raise the Colours has responded that their actions were humanitarian and calls for a clearer legal framework for civilian anti‑smuggling efforts. The French Ministry of Interior stated the ban would last until further review.
